After many long months spent benchmarking different outsourcing companies in Latin America, carefully considering all the options in the market and alternative service models, you’ve decided that outsourcing in Latin America is exactly what your business needs for it’s software product development to reach it’s full potential. Now what?

Outsourcing to Latin America may be caused by different needs. From cost efficiency to time zone similarities, companies in the United States are looking to optimize their software development processes by expanding their software output without incurring in extra costs.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that not every country is fit for the same requirements. Latin America is home to various countries, with different approaches and priorities hen it comes to technology and software development overall. This means that you will not find all of the talent you need in one country and will need to select from a diverse pool talent from across the region. Some companies source from local talent and specialize in specific technological disciplines, while others source from the entire region’s pool of talent, taking full advantage of remote work.

In this article, we’ll be looking at the different specialties of each country in Latin America in order to help you determine which latin American services will help you reach your goal the most.

Which Talent Do You Need for Your Latin America Outsourcing Needs?

Different countries offer different services or approaches to those same services, thus finding talent that suit your needs properly will be key to finding proper success. Given these statistics found in the report, we can provide a few recommendations on what talent you can find according to the needs your project has:

Brazil

Brazil is the top destination for IT outsourcing in latin america, considering its close proximity to the US and a lower language barrier because of the amount of the population that speak english. Latin America outsourcing using talent from Brazil gives you the biggest variety for specialists with new technologies. With their increased bet on machine learning, AI and data science, you’d be hard pressed to not include Brazilian talent in your search for a nearshoring team.

Colombia

Colombia provides a similar split between technical and business oriented talent like in Brazil, though with a preference for the technical side. They especially are preparing their citizens for participating in decision making and project leadership, perfect if your talent needs a lead developer or a project manager.

Mexico

Nearshore software development in Mexico is mostly focused on the technical side of software development, with an even bigger focus on data science. Mexico has been the favored region to practice nearshoring with for a while now, meaning you’re likely to find adequate talent from the closest region to onshore options, in the case of the united states.

Chile

Chile is a particularly interesting choice to consider, given it’s goals of improving its digital competencies, and it’s cutting-edge approach to technology. It’s projected to grow within the tech field by almost USD 4 billion by 2027, meaning hiring talent from Chile will become common place within the industry in no time at all.

Peru

Of all the options, Peru is the single option that favors business development over the technical side of software development. Of course, it’s not slacking in tech either, but the preference is there. If you’re looking for talent specialized in business analysis, and communicating with stakeholders to make sure business goals are being met, Peru talent is perfect for you.
